Co-designing smart and sustainable mobility
Co-created sessions will bring groups from across the ITS ecosystem together to collectively explore challenges, strategies, and new opportunities in transport and mobility.
These sessions are designed to bring together public authorities, industry leaders, research organisations, and international associations to develop ideas, policies, and actions shaping the future of smart and sustainable mobility.
The main purpose of the co-created sessions is to strengthen collaboration within and beyond the ITS ecosystem. Specifically, they aim to:
- Align strategies and perspectives across the public and private sector, i.e. public authorities like ministries, road authorities, cities and regions, industry, research, etc.
- Explore and boost synergies that lead to meaningful partnerships and shared initiatives.
- Engage new audiences and extend dialogue beyond the traditional ITS community.
- Encourage outcomes that inform future collaboration, projects, and policy directions.
- Establish educational paths to introduce new technologies and regulatory frameworks.
1. Cities agenda: Connecting local priorities with European and global networks
Two sessions under this theme will explore how digital innovation and policy integration can bridge local actions with broader frameworks. These two sessions will focus on how digital innovation and integrated policy can connect local initiatives to larger-scale frameworks, all within this overarching theme.
These sessions link up with the discussions of the Smart Mobility Summit of Cities and Regions that takes place on the first day of the Congress. Here, we connect policymakers, solution providers, and EU-level actors to identify pathways for cooperation and implementation.
Session 1 co-created with POLIS: Who is in the driver’s seat? Governing automated mobility
Session 2 co-created with EUROCITIES: From smart systems to smart governance: Aligning policies for intelligent urban mobility
2. Mobility beyond the road
Focusing on the creation of a more resilient and interconnected mobility system, two sessions within this stream will explore the key enablers of cross-modal innovation. The objective is to foster cooperation, enhance interoperability, and facilitate knowledge sharing across the road, rail, maritime, and air sectors.
In short, a dialogue on the governance, investment, and interoperability frameworks required for a unified transport system.
Session 3 co-created with 6GIA: Beyond silos: Advanced connectivity for multimodal mobility
Session 4 co-created with Waterborn Technology Platform & SESAR JU: On the road and beyond for a truly multimodal future
3. Partnerships with international associations: aligning for global impact
Collaboration throughout and beyond Europe is essential to harmonise global standards and accelerate innovation. Two sessions co-developed with international associations will focus on global objectives.
These partnerships will deepen cooperation between European and global mobility leaders, fostering mutual learning and shared progress.
Session 5 co-created with ITS Nationals: Cross-border Projects across Europe
Session 6 co-created with CILT Türkiye: Digitalisation of Logistics and Mobility: From Vision to Workforce
4. Partnerships on social factors and user groups
Two sessions on social factors, for instance, one on workforce (reskilling, impact, youth, leadership, etc.) and one on inclusion of all users (bridging gaps in accessibility, including digital, disability, age, gender, etc.).
Session 7 co-created with European Passengers' Federation: Design Principles in Transport and ITS
Session 8 co-created with PAVE Europe: Digitalisation and autonomous vehicles: Transforming the workforce and skills landscape
